Craft Manchester’s Marketing Event
Craft Taster Event
Well what a success! I just wanted to share with you our experience at our taster event so I thought i would write a little blog about it. The event was held at Chorlton Library on Saturday 18th March from 2-4.30pm. It was a chance for people to pop by and take part it a free craft activity to see what Craft Manchester was going to be all about.
What was on offer!
We started the day of all set up with craft stations for each child or adult. We had one table for ceramic animal painting and one table for dècopatch design using a selection of different paper machè and mdf items. The paint was poured the paper was cut and we were set to go.
As the day went on more and more people came along to see what was being offered, Adults came with their children and adults came with there friends. Everyone got stuck into a good old bit of creativity. We had kids who just wanted tp paint an animal, we had kids who just wanted to try dècopatch. Then we had the really ambitious that had ago at both. It wasn’t just the children either, we had the creative adults who had a go at painting and dècopatch. Which is what we are all about.
We had a selection of wonderful cakes on offer. These were made by one of our potential cake suppliers for the cafe. Cakes by Natalie she is a local baker with a passion for baking up wonders. We also had tea and coffee on offer. Our coffee supplier Second City Coffee were amazing. Their coffee was delicious and that was just their signature coffee, so I can’t wait to get our premium range (lattes, cappuccino, espresso etc) on offer.
We also had a few products for sale, some paper machè objects and some pre made kits. This were both decopatch and painting kits. These went down a treat.
What we thought
At Craft Manchester we want creativity to shine in everyone big and small. We want to create an environment where you can relax, open your mind and let creativity in. We think we were able to give a sneak peak of this on Saturday. We got excellent feed back, suggestions and some criticism, which we are going to take it all on board to try and make Craft Manchester a bold pop of colour in a black and white world.
I just want to say a BIG thank you to all that help on Saturday. We couldn’t have done it without you. Also a BIG thank you to all you that came along to the event (especially in that horrible Manchester rain) and opened up to our idea and gave feedback on what we can do/not do to create Craft Manchester. We look forward to inviting every single one of you and more to our cafe when we are up and running. Stay tuned to our social media for updates or sign up to our newsletter.
